they include gloves for a reason

Posted on

We’ve been having “kate camp” this week, which means we’ve been graced with the presence of an older friend of Pia’s most of the week. Kate brought a tie-dye kit for us to share on Tuesday so the girls had fun tie-dying shirts, socks, pillowcases, and, well, underwear (why not?). The girls stayed mostly clean because I made them wear the gloves that were included in the kit. I decided to forgo the gloves because it was too hard to mix the dyes with bulky gloves on. Let this be a lesson to you. Wear the gloves. Because this is what my hands looked like after a dozen washings:

And my legs are a lovely rainbow of colors that, despite being rubbed raw with an exfoliant, shows little sign of fading.

  1. Hey – it’s almost like you are an Indian bride with henna hands, getting ready for the wedding!
