Pea’s adoption is finally finalized. The process in our county was very straightforward and easy once we had the go-ahead from Thailand. We spent 3 minutes in court with the same judge who granted Tea’s adoption petition, and 30 minutes taking pictures in the waiting area and outside. (Tea also took 100 pictures. I uploaded a couple to his utterly neglected photo blog.)
Pea was thrilled that we kept telling him it was his special day. We tried to soften Tea’s jealousy by telling him it’s a special day for him as a big brother, too – Pea is officially his little brother forever, to love and pester.
My parents joined us for lunch beforehand and ice cream afterwards. It was a simple, sweet day.
I’m so glad that Pea is stuck with us. I hope he feels the same way.
It might be excessive to post 8 pictures from a 3 minute event, but since the entire adoption process took more like 3 years, I’m going to do it anyway. Besides, it wouldn’t be one of my posts without too many pictures. For some reason, the majority of my favorite shots from the day are the outtakes. I love my squirrely boys.
And the self timer on my camera? It takes two shots, 2 seconds apart. I made it for the second picture. 🙂
